Why doesn't RootsSearch work for me anymore?

I've been spoiled by the RootsSearch app and can't go back to primitive life without it! It stopped working for me two days ago, telling me Unable to load the person. Check the ID and try again. Which gives the same result. I checked my Chrome extensions, found a bad ad-blocker and removed it, but no change. Any advice?

Doesn't bode well for the upcoming Clean-a-Thon

A lot of people have been struggling with RootsSearch in th last couple of weeks doesn’t seem a rhyme or reason to it.

I get the same error when I use Chrome but it works on Apple Safari. You may want it try a different browser.

Once I get beyond RootsSearch app I can switch back to Chrome and use the other extensions.

Have been having similar access problem for past week..perhaps it's self isolating.

Try clearing your browsing history - or clear it for the past few days. Then, try again. This process worked for some of us yesterday.

Clearing the past few days (through the day before it stopped working) didn't help. Maybe need to clear more or all of it.
Cleared entire history and still can't access RootsSearch.
Are your software updates up to date?
yep, as of yesterday. Still same result.

Thanks, everyone! I finally got my solution:

you don't need to clear the browser history, just the browser's cache. I don't know which browser you are using, but in Chrome there's an option to clear "Cached images and files." That's the one you want.

I just this today, I’m working on my iPad. Have you figured it out yet?

Yes! I got the answer from Justin York. He said you don't need to clear the browser history, just the browser's cache. I don't know which browser you are using, but in Chrome there's an option to clear "Cached images and files." That's the one you want.

Worked like a charm!

Thanks, iPad is safari. Hopefully it won’t happen again
