Advice before editing this pre-1700 Bennett profile?

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

When using this form, you should list the actual information that you wish to add and the sources of that information.

Agree, and they should be added to the form so they can be assessed BEFORE being added to the profile.

Hi Darrell, since you created the profile for Mary Bennett, (changing her from the previous designation of Unknown) please add whatever you have. Information and especially sources for the information. The first thing you should address is why you think her maiden name was Bennett. Her husband's profile clearly states that her maiden name is unknown.

Please note that Ancestry, Family Search etc. are not sources themselves, they are repositories of Sources, but they also contain, family trees, which are notoriously inaccurate.

If you got the surname Bennett from family trees, you should change it back to Unknown.
