We have never really looked at the cane ..... have focused more on Isabella Douglas and the scar on her face , Wondering if she could have been kicked by a horse or cow at some stage ..
Her mother , MARY DOUGLAS, exhibited both ayrshire cattle and Clydesdale horses at agricultural shows from approx. 1855- 1881 in scotland . As mary Douglas was a widow from 1851 , the farm would have required all members of the family to help run the farm.
