I need help with Norway records and naming method Karlsen family

Question

I'm looking for the parents of John Karlson and of his wife Jorgine.  Any other info also gratefully accepted.  Yes I have read the related questions on this subject.

So Jensine's father is Jens Jorgen Ellingsen and mother is Johanna and siblings are Edvin, Fridth and Olaf ??

Yes, the first census seems to show him with his parents, Karl and Ane, plus siblings. How to find this:

Go to https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/

Enter Name and year of birth

On the results page, narrow by geography. Nord-norge then Nordland then Heroy.

The second census seems to them and their children maybe living with her parents. You will want to get more sources to prove this. I can demo how to look in the church books for other info. In the meantime, this page is essential, if you don't read Norwegian!

Have a look at his (their) ancestors.

If you then click on Christiana Charlotte Olsdatter Tønder and look at her ancestors, you are in the 16th century..
