Biography

Margaret was born on the 10th January 1904 in Edmonton, Middlesex, the daughter of John Samuel James Williams (1865 - 1958) and Jessie Nicoll (Vincent) Williams (1863 - 1944).^[1][2][3]

1911 Census on the 2nd April 1911 Margaret was living in Wood Green, Hornsey, Middlesex with her parents John and Jessie, and her siblings Frank, Amy, Ida, Percy, Eric, Norah and Edward.^[4][5]

In the 1921 census Margaret (age 17), Clerk, was recorded as single in South Walsham, Norfolk, England. She was a passenger on a boat called "Scout" which was on the South Walsham River, with her mother Jessie N Williams and Enid M Porter, apparently on holiday^[6]

First marriage

Margaret married Chalmers Russell and the marriage was registered in the 1st quarter 1930 in St Pancras, Middlesex.^[7]

1939 National Register on the 29th September 1939 Margaret and her son Gavin were living at The Surgery, 84 High Street, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, the home and practice of Dr Peter Connan a medical practioner, and his wife Alice (Barnard) Connan. Also living there was Jean Connan a dispenser, and Geoffrey Barnard a vetinary student.^[3]

Second marriage

Margaret divorced Alexander and in 1974 married Leonard G. O. Abbott and that marriage was registered in the 3rd quarter 1974 in Worthing, Sussex.^[8]

Margaret died aged 89 in 1993 in Worthing, Sussex.^[9]

Margaret had two other children in addition to Gavin. They were Elizabeth who moved to Toronto, Canada, and Peter who moved to Perth, Australia but have not been able to identify their birth records.Pickup-178 10:35, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
