Rachel was born in 1836 in Georgia. Her parents are unknown at this time but were born in Georgia. She married Thomas Samuel who lived in Dahlonega and worked in a mine in 1880. They had these known children. Their known children are
- 1880 census in Dahlonega (District 837) in Lumpkin county, Georgia. One grandchild, Malachi Samuels was living with them. His parents are not known, Also living in dwelling # 109 are the families of Martha Brown and Jerry SpeerJ. Jerry married Alice Samuels, possibly a daughter of Thomas and Rachel. More research is needed to understand the familial connections of these families to the Thomas family.
