William was born in 1861. He was the son of Gain Taylor and Elizabeth Reynolds. Like his father, William worked in the lumber industry as a raftsman and surveyor. He married Nora Blanch Hunt in November 1885 and they had a daughter Helen Blanch Taylor. Helen's birth record mentioned the middle names of both parents. By 1921 William and Nora were living alone in Saint John. Death records for the couple have not been located yet.
