Harriet Southwell was born in 1883 in Sutton, Colony of New South Wales, daughter of Thomas Southwell (1850–1907) and Mary Ann Cooper (1853–1922).[1]
Harriet (21) married Henry Edward Gozzard (28) (born in 1876 in Queanbeyan, Colony of New South Wales; son of Henry Gozzard and Eliza Morris) on March 29, 1905 in Queanbeyan, New South Wales.[2] Their children were:
Harriet died on May 15, 1955 in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia, aged 71.
Mrs. Harriett Gozzard, of Miller Street, O'Connor, died at Canberra Community Hospital on Friday, aged 71. Mrs. Gozzard way born at Sutton, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Southwell. Apart from 10 years at Forbes, she had lived all her life in the Canberra district. She married the late Mr. H. E. Gozzard and went to Forbes with her husband in 1925, where they worked together on a farm, grazing and wheat-growing. When her husband died she returned to Canberra to live with her daughter, Mrs. H. Hobbs, in Miller Street, O'Connor. Mrs. Gozzard was buried with her husband at Forbes yesterday and a service was held at St. Ninian's Church on the Yass Road.[3] |
She was buried at Forbes Cemetery, Forbes, New South Wales.[4]
