I recently found a marriage, a family, & the death of my mother's [unknown] half-brother. Hiram William Brown Jnr was b Birkenhead, CHS in 1888 & "disappeared" after the 1911 census. Turns out he married [25 June 1913] Gwendoline THOMAS [b 20 May 1893] at Blaenavon in Neath, Glamorganshire while in the Royal Flying Corps. His RAF papers note their 1st child, Sarah, b 4 Nov 1913. The 1939 census shows them at 6 Elba Avenue, Port Talbot with a son, Norman Thomas Brown b 16 Apr 1930. Hiram was discharged Apr 1920 & was employed as a motor mechanic until his death at Bridgend in 4th qtr 1941.

Does anyone have these people in their family tree?? I can provide an extensive FT for Hiram if anyone would like it!

Sharyn, I do not have the name of the Stephen Thomas you asked about on the Thomas Name Study (this) page. I did a search for Martha Dale because I thought that would be a shorter list than a search for Stephen Thomas, and I was certainly right about that! However, I saw no Martha Dales that fit into your profile.

You may want to do a more thorough search using the Thomas name for both Stephen and his father, William, to see if you can find a match as to place and date(s). Otherwise, if unable to find a match, it is logical for you to create their profiles on your own ancestral tree. Best wishes on your quest!

Hi I have ancestor Stephen Thomas ch: 20 Nov 1790, Madron, Cornwall, married in 1810 to Martha DALE. Stephen's father was William. I can't see them on this tree; does anyone have them in their tree?

Mary ~ I don't have my husband's tree completely filled in yet, but know enough about it to say that our connection, if there is 1 even that recent, would have to be back to the 18th century & in England. As soon as his aunt can send more information I'll get it on the W.T. tree & let you know it's there.

Elizabeth Brookfield Thomas, was married to Michael Thomas. Uriah Brookfield, her father made his will in 1788 Sussex Co., DL and named Michael Thomas as his executor. He named the Thomas children as his heirs. Michael was on the 1800 and 1810 census with himself and wife over 45. I have a James Thomas born 1771 in Sussex Co. born to Michael Thomas. James was first found in Phil. PA 1800 and in 1800 in Washington Co., PA James is my 3rd gr. grandfather. No proof that Michael in Sussex is the right father for James 1771

I'm trying to trace William Kitchen Thomas, born 29th June 1887. In Porthleven ( Sithney Parish ) Cornwall, England. He arrived in USA 18th October 1898. He worked in a mine Gila County, Arizona, in 1917 and was last heard of we think in New York 1950, by a friend. That is all we know, he appears to have disappeared. His father was John James Thomas, and his mother Catherine Kitchen. We do how ever have a photo but not sure how I can put that on the site. Maybe someone with more experience can give me the details of how I can achieve that.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I could have sworn I found a Thomas list that was state specific in the U.S. Is that correct? I'm looking for a clan of Thomas in Maryland around the early 1800's (probably in Allegany county, but not sure.) I have a John Thomas born in Maryland, date unknown, married to Martha Ellen Smoot in Allegany County, Maryland in February of 1851. They had two children (Ranny - Randolph - Thomas and Jane Frances Thomas. Jane is my great great grandmother.) Can anyone give me a clue as how best to find this Thomas family? Thank you.
