Biography
John was born in 1838. He was the son of Eli McWhorter and Jane Morris. He passed away August 19, 1868.
He married Mary Susan Curry on 4 September 1862, in Upshur, Virginia. Their children were Waitman Thomas McWhorter (1863–1944), Florence Hettie McWhorter 1866–1955), William Truman McWhorter (1868–1948), Allie McWhorter (1883–) and Harry McWhorter (1883–).
John passed away on 22 August 1868 followed with burial at the McWhorter Church Cemetery in McWhorter, Harrison County, West Virginia.
