At the time of his Birth, his father, Ephraim Luce, was 33 and his mother, Lydia Maria Macomber, was 34.
Andrew married Melinda Jane Franklin in 1864. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters.
Andrew Jackson Luce Passed Away on 25 January 1923, in Linslaw, Lane, Oregon, United States, at the age of 89, and was buried in Oregon, United States.
He was named for U.S. President Andrew Jackson, a popular president who favored western expansion and Indian removal.
He came to Utah in 1848 or 1849. His father was in the 1851 Cummings Company. His mother and the children came to Utah in 1848 or 1849. Church records prove they arrived before 7 April 1850, his sister Ester Ann Luce received a patriarchal blessing in Salt Lake. Ester Ann appears in the 1850 Utah census. Another sister, Caroline, was married in Utah February 1851 and the children are on the 1856 Utah Census. (Mormon Pioneer Overland Travel database.).
He was re-baptized 24 April 1850 in Salt Lake City by Byran Nowlin, and confirmed by Bryan Nowlin and H. S. Eldridge.[4]
