John Loring born at Hull January 15, 1707.
John married September 18, 1729, Elizabeth Lobdell; she died in 1778.
He was graduated from Harvard College in 1729. He removed to North Yarmouth (then included in Massachusetts, Maine not being a State till 1820) before 1750, and took up The great gully, extending along the present line of the railroad into what was later incorporated as Pownal.
He served in the militia; was elected a selectman. He died in 1784.
