Biography

Ruby Joyce Jones was born on 20 December 1924 in New Zealand. She was the daughter of Frederick John Jones and Florence Booker.

Around 1946, she married Gordon John Porter. Their engagement was announced in the New Zealand Herald on 29 December 1945.

When her husband was in Jayforce, her address was 102 Commerce St., Frankton Junction (Hamiltion).

She passed away on 23 December 1978 near Taupo, Waikato, aged 54. She was killed in a traffic accident, being a passenger in a car travelling to Taupo, when another car ran into the back. 5 others were injured. She was a widow residing at Myrtle Street, Hamilton, her husband having died three months previously.
