Elizabeth's maiden name is unknown. She had married an Abernathy, as proven by her sons named in her will, but she must have subsequently married a Hunt, because that is the name she used when she wrote her will.
Elizabeth Hunt of Newberry Co SC wrote her will on 6 Jan 1796.[1] She left the money owed to her by Mercer Babbs to her sons James and John Abernathy. She also left legacies to her grandson James, her daughter-in-law Rhoda, and her daughter Isabel. She named Mercer Babb and Samuel Miles as her executors. Witnesses were Aaron Mills, Richard Sloan and William Belton. Her will was proved 18 Feb 1797.
Research Notes
It is possible that Elizabeth's second husband was Michael Hunt.
