I am searching for siblings of my Great Great Grandfather. My Mother was a Raymond/Childs/Cheney, and my Father was Howery.
About 1855 Rudolph, my Great Great Grandfather and his parents, and siblings left Germany and came to the USA, probably on a steamship line. The story has always been told in our family that Rudolph's father died aboard ship and was buried at sea. When the rest of the family got to America they went to Toledo, Ohio.
His mother died. He was put into an orphanage in Toledo Ohio. We do not know what happened to his siblings. Since he apparently did not know his birthday, the orphanage stood him up with other boys his size, and gave him June 15, 1844 as his birthday...1/2 way through the year. But I have found records where he could have been as young as 6, or as old as 12?
His last name could be spelled Howery, Hauri, Haurie, Howrie, Howdy, Harri, Haury, or Harri
If any of this makes any sense to you, please let me know. I am also attaching what I have of my family tree.
Thank you for your time.
