I am searching for siblings of my Great Great Grandfather, Rudolph Howery. My Mother was a Raymond/Childs/Cheney, and my Father was Howery.

About 1855 Rudolph, my Great Great Grandfather and his parents, and siblings left Germany and came to the USA, probably on a steamship line. The story has always been told in our family that Rudolph's father died aboard ship and was buried at sea. When the rest of the family got to America they went to Toledo, Ohio. His mother died. He was put into an orphanage in Toledo Ohio. We do not know what happened to his siblings. Since he apparently did not know his birthday, the orphanage stood him up with other boys his size, and gave him June 15, 1844 as his birthday...1/2 way through the year. This is a guess

Hi Kris,

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. It will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the WikiTree site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Hello Jana,

Since I posted the link to my Ancestry DNA Family Tree, does that now mean anyone can see it that logs in? I will have more questions later. Thanks Kris Howery

Hi Kris!

You can control who can see how much of your information by changing your privacy level. Once you sign the Honor Code, you can't change your listing to Unlisted. But other than that, you can adjust it to allow people to see just your name, or nothing at all. If you want to allow people to see your Ancestry links, then make your bio open. If you don't, then set it all to Private. These options are under the Privacy tab. The explanation for each of the various options is under the lock icon at the top right of your profile. Hope that helps! Jana
