Christy was born November 13, 1762 in Broomtown in the parish of Auldearn, Nairnshire, Scotland and baptised there on November 14th. She is the daughter of David Grant and Margaret Johnston.[1]
She married widower James McHattie in her "home parish of Auldearn, Nairnshire, Scotland on January 3, 1793 and in his "home parish" of Dyke, Morayshire on February 15, 1793. [2]Christy and James were the parents of 5 daughters and 1 son with their 1st born daughter dying in infancy.
In 1841, she is listed as Widow McHatty age 77 living in Whitemyre in the parish of Dyke and "supported by charity" and living with her was her unmarried daughter Elizabeth age 35.[3]
Christian died in 1845 at Whitemire, Moray, Scotland.
