Asenath Grant was born about 1808. probably at Alstead, New Hamphire. No record has been found of her birth, and her ancestry is unknown. The 1850 Census recorded her living at Alstead, 42 years old, born in New Hampshire,[1] and the death record of her daughter Harriet (Severance) Lamb says that her mother was born at Alstead.[2]

Jeremiah Severance married Asenath Grant. No record has been found of the marriage. According to the death record of Harriet (Severance) Lamb, she was the daughter of Jeremiah Severance and Asenath Grant.[2]
In 1830, the household of Jeremiah Severance at Alstead, New Hampshire, included one male 20 to 30, one male under 5, and two females 20 to 30.[3]
In 1840, the household included one male 30 to 40, one male 10 to 15, one female 30 to 40, and one female 5 to 10.[4]
In 1850, Jeremiah Severance, 46, farmer, and Athena Severance, 42, were living at Alstead with Hasmer S. Severance, 21, carpenter, and Harriet Severance, 18, all born in New Hampshire.[1]
Death
No record has been found of the death of Asenath (Grant) Severance. The 1850 Census is the last record found of her.
