John Sands Grant was born in Stonington, Connecticut, 17 Aug 1827. He was a son of John and Ann Wheeler (Ayer) Grant (1798-1882) of Stonington, Connecticut.
He married 12 Nov 1862 in Jewett City, Connecticut, Mary Louisa Brown [1]. They had one child:
John Sands Grant passed away in Jewett City, Connecticut, 31 May 1900. His grave is in New Hanover Cemetery, Hanover, New London County, Connecticut, USA [2].
