Elizabeth COOMBS, born at Thomaston, ME, on 18 Nov 1787; died at Thomaston; her marriage (1st) intentions were published at Thomaston on 17 Mar 1806 to James DOW, both of Thomaston.[1] James was born circa 1785 in the British Provinces (Canadian Maritimes) and died circa 1823 when Elizabeth was referred to as “widow Eliza Dow.”[2] He was a master mariner and a Captain in the ME State Militia. She m. (2nd) int. published at Thomaston on 26 Jan 1839 to Nathaniel SIMMONS of Camden, ME,[3] and they were married 9 Feb 1839 at Camden. Nathaniel was born circa 1771 and died circa 1855.
Elizabeth Coombs and James Dow had three children: Abigail Coombs Dow, George Coombs Dow, and James Dow.
