Jacob Brown was born on July 24, 1720 in Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, son of Jacob Brown and Mary (Woodman) Brown. ^[6]

Jacob married Lydia Weare on July 13, 1743 in North Yarmouth, Cumberland County, Maine. ^{[7] [8]}
