During the American Revolution Jacob Brown was a Major in Col. Edmund Phinney's regiments, 1775 and 1776 and later in Col. Jonathan Mitchell's (Cumberland Co.) regiment. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

Jacob Brown was born on July 24, 1720 in Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, son of Jacob Brown and Mary (Woodman) Brown. [6]

Jacob married Lydia Weare on July 13, 1743 in North Yarmouth, Cumberland County, Maine. [7] [8]

Their children were:

  1. Content Brown, b. 1744.
  2. Meriam Brown, b. 1746.
  3. Reuben Brown, b. 1747.
  4. Simeon Brown, b. 1749.
  5. Peter Weare Brown, b. 1751.
  6. Sarah Brown, b. 1754.
  7. Dan Brown, b. 1756.
  8. Jacob Brown, b. 1759.
  9. Benjamin Brown Sr., b. 1761.
  10. John Brown, b. 1761.
  11. Molly Brown, b. 1766.

Jacob died on Jan. 10, 1789 in North Yarmouth aged 68.
