Jonathan Mitchell. From North Yarmouth, Maine. Colonel Mitchell's Regiment, Massachusetts Line

Served in the Revolutionary War. Enlisted May 8 1775. He was chosen as a Colonel of the 2nd Cumberland County Regiment of Massachusetts Militia - Capt. Worthey's Co., Col. Edmund Phinney's Regiment, 2nd Cumberland County Regiment of Massachusetts Militia. From August 1776 to November 1776 he was stationed at Falmouth, District of Maine to defend the seacoast, He was also on a list of men raised from North Yarmouth to reinforce the Continental Army. Then he served for two months on the Penobscot. Ultimately, he was chosen as muster master for Cumberland County Maine in 1780. ^[1][2]
