Biography

Nathaniel was baptized September 18, 1763, the son of Jeremiah Allen and Eunice Gardner of Manchester, Massachusetts[1] [2]

In 1766, he moved with his parents to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia [3] [4] [5] [2]

On February 28, 1782, he married Sarah Robbins, daughter of James Robbins[2], and their children included:

  1. Nathaniel, born November 20, 1783, who died in infancy[2]
  2. Lydia, born July 21, 1785, who married Robert Durkee, son of Phineas[2]
  3. Oliver, born October 11, 1789, who died unmarried in 1803[2]
  4. Sarah, born October 28, 1791, who died in infancy[2]
  5. Joel, born November 7, 1792, who married Lydia Redding, daughter of Benjamin[2]
  6. Daniel, born June 21, 1796, who died in infancy[2]
  7. Daniel, born September 12, 1797, whose first wife is unknown, and his second wife was Susan Bryan, daughter of Andrew[2]
  8. Sarah, born February 8, 1800, who married Eleazar Crocker, son of Eleazar[2]
  9. Nathaniel, born June 6, 1802, who married Sarah Saunders, daughter of Joseph
  10. Lyman, born September 19, 1806[2]
  11. Ruth, who married Owen Sweeney
  12. perhaps others
