Nathaniel Adams was born in Barnstable, Barnstable County, (then) Province of Massachusetts Bay, on 02 April 1734, the son of Thomas and Sarah (Phinney) Adams.^[1][2] On 09 April 1761, he married in Falmouth, Thankful Chadwick.^[3][4] They resided in Barnstable and Mashpee,^[5] on Bird Cove,^[6] where they had eight children between 1761-1785.^[7] During the Revolutionary War, Nathaniel served sporadically in Capt. Simeon Fish's company, Col. Freeman's regiment, on alarms at Dartmouth and Falmouth.^[8] Nathaniel Adams died in Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, in May 1819,^[9] aged about 85 years.
