Biography

Lot Adams was born on 24 Dec 1786 in Sandwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, the son of Heman Adams & Lucy Cobb.[1] After intentions were published in Sandwich on 15 Feb 1806, Lot Adams married, first, Sarah Coleman of Sandwich.[2] Lot Adams served as a sergeant in Capt. B. Hamlin's Company, Col. D. Nye's Regiment, raised at Sandwich, with service at Falmouth, 29-31 January and 3-12 October 1814.[3] They resided in Sandwich where Lot was a carpenter. They had eight children born in Sandwich.[4] Sarah died in 1835,[5] and Lot married, secondly, Abigail (Phinney) Coffin on 31 January 1837.[6] She was the widow of Linsey Coffin,[7] and daughter of John & Abigail Phinney.[8] Abigail died on 01 April 1863 aged 75 years,[9] and Lot died a widower on 12 August 1865 at age 78, and was buried next to his wife Sarah in the Forestdale Cemetery in Sandwich.[10]
