Can any one interpred the Census event locations so that we (and this English Profile Manager) can see a map location.  This will help locate the Head of the House place of work, and other family history.

The census gives Event Place         Acadia No. 34, Alberta, Canada Range    13 Sub-District   0011 Enumeration District            211 Acadia,

the source of the census is: "Canada Census, 1931", , FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:65L8-7X4Q : Wed Mar 20 23:59:34 UTC 2024), Entry for Harry Swarde and Eveline A Swarde, June 1, 1931.

The first page of the enumerators ledger is in the linked scan.

Is it in French, or does it name the township?

Acadia is described here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Municipal_District_of_Acadia_No._34

and townships in Alberta are here: https://www.alsa.ab.ca/Surveys-in-Alberta/Albertas-Township-System

She is at township 28, range 13, W of the 4th meridian, and within that square, section 35. (from https://recherche-collection-search.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/Home/Record?app=census&IdNumber=84637766&ecopy=e011743187)

This gives a general sense of it https://www.transportation.alberta.ca/Content/docType329/Production/11x17regiontwpgrid.pdf

So, go from south to north to find the township number and from east to west from the Alberta/Saskatchewan border (which is meridian 4) to find the range.

So a bit north of Calgary and about half way to the Saskatchewan border from Calgary,

and https://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/land/land-grants-western-canada-1870-1930/Documents/Land-Grants-of-Western-Canada-map.pdf

There is a GIS product to overlay the Alberta township range grid onto a map - you might want to explore that. https://open.alberta.ca/opendata/property-alberta-township-system-ats/resource/d80359bf-bf3f-4835-9a05-8e6a774c094d

Looks to be a little east of highway 36, search for Prairie Oasis.

My initial search using Google Maps put it on Highway 41 bordering the 4th meridian, SW of Hanna, where the family members are buried.

Harry Sward was a coal miner, and there was a mine in or near Hanna, so are we over thinking this. Could the census place be Hanna, or better yet Sheerness, the Sheerness mine on Highway 36 has just cosed and the ground between 36 and Sheerness looks as though it was all open cast mined.
Looking on google maps, there is a Sheerness coal mine right next to where section 35 looks to be.
Yes, Sheerness is a scattered township along township Road 293.  It is probably much reduced now as there is a disused School building.  The land bordering the road to its south lookes like woked out open cast mine.

I think that I have linked Sheereness to Township 28, range 12 or 13 However the last two buildings are in modern ATS 412019.
