Miss Faith Harriet Talcott (1882 - 1969) Was she Engaged?

I’m my research of Miss Faith Harriet Talcott who never married and had no children I have found an article which announces her engagement. Did she have a romance that was never to be…?

“Engagement Announced. Mr. and Mrs. Morris H. Talcott of Talcottville have announced the engagement of their daughter, Faith H., to George Goodwin, son of Mrs. Mary V. Goodwin of Burnside. Mr. Goodwin is connected with the Aetna Life Insurance Company and Is also a member of the board of commissioners of the East Hartford Fire District.”

Is this the same Miss Faith H. Talcott who graduated from Wellsely College and was a educational professional and teacher all her life?

Who was George Goodwin? Did he marry in life?

I believe this is the George Goodwin under discussion - 3rd from the bottom if you look at the image of this 1910 census page.  He is an insurance underwriter living in East Hartford with his widowed mother Mary: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MKKY-GFB

It looks like George married Louise Dodge in 1914: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N4X7-8JV

I found George Goodwin gravestone and memorial see FindAGrave it says he died age 106? He is connected to his wife Louise Dodge

I wonder why Faith and George never married it was Christmas time in 1909 when engagement was announced He was living with his widowed mother. Interesting
