Our second annual WikiGames event is coming up later this summer. The goal of this two-weekend event is to make our tree fuller, stronger and better connected while also having fun and making some new WikiTree friends.  You can find more details on the WikiGames free-space page. 

This year our WikiGames will take place over two weekends, with two events taking place each weekend. Each event will start at 8pm EDT (1am UTC/10am AEST) The schedule is as follows:

• August 23 - Sourcing Slalom
• August 24 - Date Diving
• August 30- Cross-Country Connecting
• August 31- Long-Distance Locating

Each event has three heats that run for 10 hours each. When you register, you'll sign up for a specific heat for all the events. The starting heat times are:

• Heat I: (8pm EDT/1am UTC/10am AEST)
• Heat II: (2am EDT/7am UTC/4pm AEST)
• Heat III: (8am EDT/1pm UTC/10pm AEST)

• Which heat would you like to participate in? (Note: you'll be assigned the same heat for all four events. Each heat lasts for 10 hours.)

I took part in the Wikigames last year and as part of the preparation for the Sourcing Slalom and also the Source-a-Thon in the September i downloaded a spreadsheet from the Wikitree Plus app, which i still have.

I thought it might be a good idea to go thru the list to check if there were any profiles which were still unsourced.

One rather surprising consequence that i found is that the action of supplying a 'source' appears to have reinvigorated the interest of the profile manager who then adds further information to the profile.

I generally, where able add a census table as the source which of course in the main has information about other family members which it would appear the PM is then adding to their family tree, which is maybe an unforeseen benefit of these 'sourcing thons'.
