Need translation/ explanation of pension card.

I found a pension card for a profile I'm working on. I'm unclear on what the 2 dates in 1945 refer to. Separation from service? Death? Too much for my limited Dutch!

Hi Gloria King, in answer to your question, the date May 5, 1945 is the date he worked as a police officer 1st class

Interesting that he was discharged honourably on the day that the Germans capitulated.

E.O. stands for Eervol Ontslag, Honorable Discharge. Not sure why the date mentioned there is one day after the 5th of May 1945 mentioned higher up on the pension card.
