Brigadier General James Clay Rice (1828 - 1864) his last words were  "Turn me over and let me die with my face to the foe." A bravest of brave U.S. Civil War soldier of the Union Army! Valor in the face of death!

We need collaboration in sourcing and connecting this Brigadier General who was mortally wounded at the Battle of Spotsylvania, Virginia, on May 10, 1864 having his leg shot off!

Thank you

Note: surprisingly he didn’t have a Wikitree profile

Per Wikipedia: James Clay Rice was a direct descendant of Edmund Rice, an English immigrant to Massachusetts Bay Colony

Rats!  His mother did not show up in the suggestions when I created her.  She is on WikiTree and I linked her in a Merge.
