HI Mary Ellen,

When you get a chance if you could respond to me, I would appreciate it. Looking forward to working with you.

Hi Robin,

Thanks for trying to help. What's on your mind?

Please let me know if you get this reply. Unsure if you think I am ignoring you. Please understand I have to use the computers at the library which have restrictions. Sometimes I think the emails I send get blocked by the library computer marking them as unsafe. There is a bizarre comment added which was added on March 6. I have sent emails weekly from [email address removed] to Gil Whitehouse yet I get told that I am ignoring him. There was a two week period during which some of the libraries upgraded their computer systems and I still sent emails. I have also sent you emails have you received any of them? I am not ignoring you. If you want you can text me at 1-262-720-0594 Mary Wilhelm

Understand the situation, we can just communicate here.....just wanting to make sure that you are working to source your profiles as we discussed. I did some sourcing on https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Wilhelm-269 as an example for you....

John Melcher author of the book Fellenz Sausen Genealogy and Related Families OCLC Number / Unique Identifier: 37542184 see entry on WorldCat. It is highly sourced with reliable documentation which he and another one of my relatives wrote to Germany to acquire. These sourced tend to be longer than WikiTree allows. In addition, I am unable to enter the father of my last Fellenz relative whom this book give great sources for because his date of birth was prior to 1700. Do you have any mentors from Wisconsin? The Fellenz settled in Kewaskum, Washington county Wisconsin, USA Other lines settled in little known places in Wisconsin like Mazomaine and other places whose name has changed like the Town of Lake which was annexed by Milwaukee, Wisconsin the street names of which all changed in 1930 and even when I include a American Geographical Society Library https://uwm.edu/libraries/agsl/ street converter and plot maps I can't enter the correct information because it's not a standardized place name. This a problem only someone who is from here knows what's going on.

No sure what you mean by the sources are longer than WikiTree allows....take a look at Gertrude (Schneider) Fellenz (1842-1914) this is one of the profiles that I sourced for you in that lineage. The source needs to tell
  • who made the record
  • what the record is
  • when the record was made
  • where the record is/was found

Since you have many unsourced profiles that are modern profiles (Post 1700), please start with those profiles to add sources, rather than adding more profiles.

Thanks for having a Big Heart and taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. You will want to read this After Adopting Orphans as it explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. You may also want to go through the new member help on How to manage your Watchlist.

How does one handle step-children who marry each other? Despite the complicated parental relationships, they would be handled as would any two people who marry. Care would be taken to be sure that 1st and 2nd marriages of various parents were profiled and sourced with go-to citations, and that all the children of each 1st marriage is accounted for, and all the children of any 2nd marriage is accounted for.

You should profile the parents and their 1st spouses and the children thereof first and then you can see where you stand, and pluck out the particular groom and bride and marry them off.

Hi –

We are happy to have you as a member of WikiTree. I hope you’re enjoying being here.

I'm a member of the Mentor project, and I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can help you with?

Shirley – WikiMentor

Hello Again,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week now so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

I want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Messenger

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there. Give that a try!

Thanks for volunteering! You are now an active member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family.

I recommend starting with our New Member How-To pages. They will save you time, energy and frustration as you create your family profiles.

Need help? Just ask!

Above all, have FUN!  :) I hope you enjoy WikiTree as much as I have!

Kind regards,

Vicky Majewski ~ WikiTree Greeter & Member since August 2015

P.S. If you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page.

Hi Mary,

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email you receive from WikiTree will contain links to help you get started. We hope you will take time to browse the site and check us out.

WikiTree is FREE, and different from other genealogical sites. Our goal is to have one Profile per person, which means we collaborate as a team.

If you would like to join us, add your own family, share research, and collaborate with others, simply confirm your email address, fill out the TAGS on your Profile page, click SAVE TAGS, and VOLUNTEER. (information on Tags can be found at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tags). Once you opt to Volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.

Hope you decide to join us!
