Biography

Mary Warren[1][2][3][4] was born in England about 1610. She was the daughter of Richard Warren and Elizabeth Walker. Mary died at Plymouth 27 Mar 1683, aged 73 years.[5] Mary Warren married Robert Bartlett after 22 May 1627, when the "Division of Cattle" occurred, possibly in 1629.[5][6]

Immigration

Richard Warren sailed on the Mayflower in 1620, leaving behind his wife and family, and arrived from England at what would become the New Plymouth Colony[7][3] on 26 December 1620.[8] Richard then had his wife and children come over to him, and they arrived on the Anne at Plymouth in the summer of 1623.[9] Another passenger on the Anne was Robert Bartlett, Mary's future husband.[9][5]

Marriage and Children

Mary and Robert had not yet married by May, 1627, when the "Division of cattle" occurred.[5][10]

Mary married in 1628 at Duxbury, Plymouth, Massachusetts, according to Savage.[2] Anderson believes they married "say" 1629 (based on the estimated ages of children at their marriages).[5][1]

Eight children were born to the couple:

  1. Benjamin Bartlett
  2. Rebecca Bartlett
  3. Mary Bartlett
  4. Sarah Bartlett
  5. Joseph Bartlett
  6. Elizabeth Bartlett
  7. Lydia Bartlett
  8. Mercy Bartlett

Robert Bartlett died in 1676,[5] leaving Mary a widow. All the children were married by that time.

Death and Legacy

Mary died on 27 March 1683 at Plymouth, Massachusetts in her 73rd year.[5]

This profile says, "Arrived from England at Plymouth Rock on 22 Dec 1620." That isn't supported by the linked source and appears to be incorrect.

Thanks for catching that, the statement referred to her father. I've rearranged the sentences to clarify.

Thanks, Bobbie. Sorry to be a pain but that particular source (the page or the website, as far as I can tell) doesn't seem to support the date.

Warren-7423 and Warren-67 appear to represent the same person because: Ignore the different dates. I believe these profiles Robert Bartlett and Mary Warren, allegedly of Guilford, are a modern internet attempt to give previously attached child, George Bartlett, parents. The parents were borrowed from a couple about the correct age, but in a wrong place ie. Robert Bartlett of Plymouth and his wife Mary Warren : B-404 11:25, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

The citation for the mother's name is an article in TAG magazine.

In addition, There was another Warren Family with similar names and time period. There were a number of bad merges involving the members of the two families.

AFIK, Mary's birth location is unknown (no offered source or circumstance alludes to specific birth place)

. As a PPP, we should honor our primary reference (Anderson) and remove this 'highly uncertain' information until some shred of evidence is offered up.

changed marriage date to "about" 1628; no sources found/referenced have specific dates, and bio says date is an approximation
