m. Delmonico's, Manhattan, NYC
[Tuesday, 21 Dec 1915, Page 13]
MISS NITA MOYSE WEDS. - The Bride of Harold A Stern at Delmonico's --- The Attendants.
The wedding of Miss Nita Madeleine Moyse Juanita Madeleine (Moyse) Stern (abt.1893-1952), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Moyse of 215 West Ninety-eighth Street, and Harold Armand Stern Harold Armand Stern (1890-1973), son of Mr. William Stern (1854-1921) and Mrs. William Stern Carolyn (Friedman) Stern (1862-1947) of this city, was solemnized at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at Delmonico's. The Rev. G. Deutsch of Cincinnati, Ohio, performed the ceremony.
The bride wore a gown of white satin and tulle, embroidered in pearls, with a Court train of satin. Her tulle veil, caught up with a chaplet of orange blossoms, fell in voluminous folds almost to the end of the train. She carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley and sweetheart roses. Mrs. Matrice Switzer of this city was matron of honor, and Miss Iphigene Malony of Cinncinnati was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were the Misses Ayleen Moyse of Cincinnati and Mae Schooler of New York. Little Carolin Blum, a cousin of the bride, acted as flower girl. The matron of honor was in orchid-colored tulle, with a tulle hat of the same shade, and carried yellow roses. The maid of honor wore an orchid-colored tafetta frock, topped with a black tulle hat. The two bridesmaids were in frocks of Nile green taffeta, with hats of black tulle. The flower girl wore flesh-colored tulle frock, and carried a basket of sweetheart roses. The color scheme of mauve entered also into the floral decorations, lavender chrysanthemums being used in the ballroom where the ceremony took place.
Lawrence Stern Laurence William Stern (1887-1970) acted as best man, and the ushers were Arthur Friedman, Walter Gross, George Gunzburg, and Alphonse Moyse, Jr., a brother of the bride. A reception followed the ceremony, Mrs. Moyse, the bride's mother, was in gray crepe embroidered in silver, with a black velvet and tulle hat. Mrs. Stern, the bridegroom's mother, wore a champagne colored costume heavily embroidered in brown and gold, with a brown velvet hat. After the reception the couple left for Old Point Comfort on their bridal journey. They will be at home at 215 West Ninety-eighth Street after Jan 1. There were several out-of-town guests at the wedding, including the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry N Blum and Mrs. Alexander Hyman of New Orleans, and Mrs. Louis B Bloom of Cincinnati.
