Biography

Kent (historic flag)
Nick Miller was born in Cliftonville, Kent, England.

Nicholas Paul Miller
Gender: Male
Birth: May 30, 1950
Margate, Kent

Geographical Notes and Social context: Clintonville in east Margate is a well preserved Victorian seaside resort, and most of the original streets, spaces and buildings remain relatively unaltered. Built to high standards of design and construction from the 1860s onwards, the buildings provide a fine example of historic seaside architecture which is compatible in quality to similarly dated seaside developments elsewhere in England.
Northdown Road forms a linear ‘spine’ to the seaside suburb of Cliftonville which lies to the east of the older settlement of Margate Whilst the western end of Northdown Road retains some buildings which are shown on the 1821 map, the majority of the buildings in the area are commercial premises which were largely built during Cliftonville’s heyday between the 1870s and the early 20th century to provide goods and services to the area’s many visitors and residents. It is notable for its rows of well detailed shops, which are interrupted by individual buildings such as St Michael and St Bishoy’s Church (the former St Stephen’s Wesleyan Methodist Church). Nearby, St Paul’s Church and its vicarage are further landmark buildings. There are also terraces of well detailed late 19th or early 20th century houses, the most notable being the Arts and Crafts houses in Crawford Gardens and a pair of similarly-dated houses in Prices Gardens.[1]

Hi,

I have pretty well run out of relatives whop served, however I did discover an error in the porofile Drew-3192 which required rework, and added sources to McDonald-24179, Ouzman-5 , Miller-86509 and Boyd-21542 all of whome were already in existance. Regards Nick

Thanks for checking in, Nick. I marked you active.. A person does not have to create new profiles.. After all we all only have so many ancestors.. But you did right to correct profiles, and to add sources to others. There are scads that need good sources. Some people just list "source to be added later" or their name as memory.

Yes, I located the place of burial of Henry William Miller (1890-1916)

This may well be the last record out there to be found.

Hi Nick,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.

It looks like the United Kingdom Project would be a good fit with the tag you entered. Adding the tag United_Kingdom will help you get updates about activity for that project.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
