Excellent, I haven't seen her will but that is exactly what i was hoping to hear.

I've seen Elsje's marriage but i'm not sure about the 1640 witnesses: Everadrus Bogardus, Willem Schouten, Maritje Jans, Maritje Thymens If she was one of them why couldnt she be the Jans? Or did the clerk accidently record her twice perhaps?

Either way there is only one possible wedding in Amsterdam between 1620 and 1640

The only hesitation i have is that the brides age looks to be 22 and looking at it i now realise that there is no father's name, what i thought was his name "Jans" is actually "years"

The "j.d" in the marriage record to Govert is an original mistake as she mentions her children in her will, including the children of Elsje (Tymens) Leisler and Jacob Loockerman.

She was in New Netherland as early as 09 Sep 1640 as she witnessed a baptism as "Maritje Thymens".

Her daughter Elsje, who married in 1652, stated that she was "van N. Amsterd."

Marritje supposedly came to America in 1630 with her sister's family and her mother, although i have not seen evidence to prove this.

The marriage record to Thymen could disprove this story.

But on the other hand if she DID go to America in 1630 then the woman who married Thymen and Dirck must be just a namesake.

PS the woman who marries Govert Loockermans is a "j.d." and so cannot be the same woman who was married to Thymen and Dirck.

VERY curious if the 1635 wedding is Anneke's sister as there seems to be a father of the bride present at the wedding!

Jonas-73 and Jans-55 appear to represent the same person because: So, with no family attachments remaining on this match, I guess we can now just merge it away into the NNS PPP, to get rid of the excess profile? Thanks!

Hi Carrie,

She was a duplicate for Maritje as well if I remember correct ? Guess we can merge them now ? And the Catherina Jonas who now is the supposed mother is she again a duplicate of Jonas-27 Catherina ? If they are , maybe Maritje should have Jonas-27 set as her mother already ?

Greets and if they are just propose the merges :)

I guess I have to re-read the whole story again , aaarrgh

Hi Fred ,

We are working on sorting out and correcting this lineage, removed wrong parents Wolfert Webber and Anneke Coch and connected her to her correct mother Catharina (Trijntje) Jonas (Roelofs) She is the sister of Anneke Jans See this G2G

so she can be merged safely now ,no conflicts , Thanks :)

She can be merged into Jans-55 which, because of the lowest number is the PPP profile now Thanks :)
