I would like to know who the parents of William Bass and Lily Burns were

Lately I have had so much success on Wiki so I thought I'd try one more. William Roland Joseph Bass was born on 15 May 1893 in Wardlaw, Essex , England. He died on 2 Mar 1964 in Sault Ste Marie or somewhere close to the Soo in Algoma District. I have seen birthdates that differ by a few days. On 6 Apr 1918 he married Mary Evelyn Maylott  1901-1984.  On a couple of trees I saw that someone said William Roland Joseph Bass was born in 1866 and his wife was Lily Burns. Bass and Burns seem like very common names in England. One would think that if his son was born in Wardlaw , Essex that would be a good starting point to look for the dad. But I can't find him there.  Apparently William Bass and Lily Burns had another son ie Gunner Bass. He is listed on William Roland Bass' next of kin when he signed up for military service. But I can find no other mention of Gunner anywhere and Lily Burns is a total mystery but with nothing to work with I don't know what to say.  I guess a marriage record would be the best chance of linking these folks together. I know there are some great researchers on Wiki..I hope one of them can come through for me. Thank you.

Here's a link to the marriage record of Joseph Roland Bass annd Mary Maylott. It gives his parents as WIlliam Burns and Lily Bass, and his birth place as Lindsay, Ontario. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:278P-GCL

I can see on his CEF form he gives his place of birth as Wardlaw Essex, there's no place in Essex with that name.

There is no marriage record in England for a William Bass and Lily Burns

I suspect his brother's name isn't Gunner, but rather that's his military title

It's also a completely different signature on his marriage and attestation papers - I wonder if these are two different people.

Could it be Wardham instead of Wardlaw?  The handwriting is only so clear.

Definitely Wardham on a military record, so possibly Wadham - there's a Wadham Rd in Walthamstow.
