Biography

Mary Ann was born about 1826 in Longtown, civil parish of Arthuret, Cumberland, England, daughter of John Wright and Sarah (Elliot) Wright. ^{[1] [2]}

At the time of the 1841 Census, her family lived on Main Street in Arthuret, Longtown district, Cumberland. Her mother was a Baker. Her father was not listed. ^[3]

The 1851 Census recorded Mary Ann as a visitor at the residence of her brother John, his spouse, and his spouse's family in Broughton, Lincolnshire. Mary Ann was a Dressmaker. ^[4]

In 1871, she was living with her father on High Street in Longtown, Cumberland. ^[2]

She was a Seamstress in 1881, living alone on High Street in Longtown. ^[5]

Mary Ann died 23 Jun 1906 in Carlisle, Cumberland, England at the age of 79. ^{[6] [7]}
