Alan was born on 20 August 1915 in Esk, Queensland, Australia. He was the son of Arthur Woodrow and Grace Smith. [1]
The family home was in Newmarket, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
He enlisted in the 2nd A.I.F. during World War 2 (QX4225) and was assigned to the 2/9th Infantry Battalion, where he rose to the rank of Corporal.
He served in Egypt, where he was one of the Rats of Tobruk.
He passed away on 3 July 1941 in Egypt as a consequence of wounds. [2]
