Biography

Jeannette McQuain "Nettie" Wight was born on September 24, 1853, in Dover, New Hampshire, the daughter of William Quincy Wight and Mary Merrill Prescott.[1][2] She moved with her parents to Chicopee, Massachusetts at a young age.

She married Herbert Dana Waterman on August 10, 1872, in Chicopee, Massachusetts.[3] They had divorced by 1880.[4] They had the following children:[5]

  1. Frank Herbert, b. 2 Apr 1873, in Westfield, Massachusetts;[6] m. Mary McGillis[7]
  2. Mary (Mamie), b. 16 Oct 1874, in Springfield, Massachusetts;[8] m. Richard George Goring[9]

She married Edward H. "Harry" Pearson on May 5, 1885, in Springfield, Massachusetts.[10][5] They lived in Springfield.

She died on September 1, 1926, in Springfield, Massachusetts.[11] She is buried in Springfield Cemetery.[12]

Research Notes

Her marriage record to Edward H. Pearson has his name recorded as Pierce, but it was definitely Pearson. Her mother's 1897 obituary mentions her daughter, Mrs. Harry Pearson of Gardner street. McCann-752 12:39, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
