Eleazer Ward was born on February 26, 1672, in Newton, Massachusetts, one of 13 children of John Ward 45, and his Hannah Jackson, 37. He married his third cousin, Deliverance Trowbridge, in 1707 in Newton, Massachusetts. He lived in Newton for many years, but at age 64, moved to Oxford, Mass. and bought a grist-mill. He died on January 18, 1751, in Oxford, Massachusetts, at age 78.
In 1751, his heirs, Deliverance Ward, Ebenezer Eddy, Phineas Ward, Ruth Eddy, and Rebecca Ward signed an estate distribution agreement.[1]
"25. Eleazer Ward, born February 26, 1672, in Newton, Mass., died January 18, 1751, on Oxford, Mass. He married 1707 DELIVERANCE TROWBRIDGE, born December 30, 1679, daughter of Deacon James and Margartet (Jackson) Trowbridge, sister of the husband that his niece Sarah took in the following year, and half-sister of the wives of his brother Richard and his nephew John Greenwood.
He served many years in the Indian wars and was in the Port Royal expedition, receiving for his services a grant of land in the South Gore. Up to 1736 he was a resident of Newton, and was one of the town's selectmen for four years. In 1736, then 64 years of age, he bought the Elliot grist-mills at Oxford and moved there.
He was town clerk of Oxford from 1739 to 1746, and became a man of influence in the township.

137. Jonas, born September 17, 1708, died April 28, 1742, in Oxford, Mass., unmarried. His estate was settled May 1748 by his brother-in-law Ebenezer Eddy, who charged for a 'journey to Exeter and Portsmouth to collect wages due to Mr Ward.'
138. Ruth, born May 19, 1710.
139. Abigail, died in infancy.
140. Tabitha, born March 24, 1712, died August 31, 1732.
141. Phineas, born December 22, 1713, married April 1, 1752, Sarah Rockett, born November 16, 1726, daughter of Joseph and Hannah Rockett of Oxford, Mass. He and his brother Samuel probably came to Oxford with their father. In 1741 they became part proprietors of the grist-mill, the partnership continuing until the death of Samuel, when their father deeded his interest to his son-in-law Ebenezer Eddy.
142. Rebecca, born December 30, 1715, married Dr. Jabez Holden.
143. Samuel, born April 16, 1718, died February 27, 1750, in Oxford, Mass. He was constable in 1749."[2]
