Margaret Turnbull was born in 1820 in English Bicknor, Gloucestershire. Her father was John and her mother was Jane (born Wilson). She married James Brown on 16 November 1848 in English Bicknor, Gloucestershire. They had daughters, Mary Elizabeth and Emily Matilda. She died in December 1903 in Kent.
