Hi Dee,The Biography for William Henry looks all good. Annie's father was Robert Samuel Browne or R S Brown .Robert was a publican in Morrinsville.

Sad that not many have added or taken a DNA test, especially when I know so many on Ancestry DNA who are matches and come down through the Thomson family line. We live in NZ and have been to Kyneton 3 times since 1996 even met Thomson relations by chance at the Kyneton Cemetery. Also had the fortune to meet Maisie Harper, and go into a couple of the old family homes,Prospect, can't remember the other off hand. All the best Dee,I do all the research for Allison, half the time she doesn't know whom I am talking about. Cheers Dave

Hi, do you have any sources to confirm that the William Dodds son of James Dods and Mary Cramont is the person who married Helen Irving?

There are 30+ William Dods/Dodds who were baptised within 5 years +/- of 1778 in the Scottish Borders and Edinburgh area. The marriage record on Scotland's people only states where the marriage happened, and his residence at the time

Thanks Dee for your research on this family,

After many years of people suggesting many incorrect marriages and other connections, I had become used to mistakes but you have done the necessary research and I’m quite sure you are correct.

Hi Dee, Sorry taken a while to get back to you. The reason why I think Jane Ann Forbes' mother was Hester Warwick was because one of her children or grandchildren were named after William Warwick. Just going by memory... I WILL GET BACK TO YOU. Maybe there are 2 different families muddled up here...Doing more research is a good idea. Let me know if you find more facts. Would be good to get this sorted. So I will do more research...might take me a while.

Hi,

It’s Germany Project check-in time again! Please respond within the next 2 weeks and let me know if you’re still interested in participating with the Project. Remember, the only requirements for membership in the Germany Project are (1) that you work on at least one German profile every 6 months and (2) that you respond to this check-in.

Since you’re not working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams yet, please look at our main Project page for a full list and let me know which team you’d like to join.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. In your response, we welcome any feedback you may want to give on the project (what you like about it, what you’d like to see us do, what we could change, etc.)

If you ever have any questions, please ask. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hello again! I posted a comment two weeks ago and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well! Do you want to remain in the Germany Project? If I don’t hear back from you by the end of November, I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, always welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.

Hi Dee,

Have worked out that Pam Thomson may not be on the correct line. So sorry if I'm incorrect.

Spent some time on Maude Marie Fairweather and found a reference to her death. Maude Marie Fairweather Source: Springvale cemetery; https://smct.org.au/deceased-search Search by: Rob J Newland 18/07/2021 Ph. 0417519049

Date of birth 1898 Willesden, London, England, United Kingdom. Date of death 19 May 1996; Date of service 23 May 1996; Service provided: Cremated; Cemetery: Springvale Botanical Cemetery Cemetery location: The cremated remains have been collected; Religion or cultural preference: Church of England.

Interestingly I discovered that the Angela I mentioned is correct and that her middle name is Marie. She was the first female Anglican Deaconess in Australia from memory

Hi Dee,

I remember very well my Uncle Albert, as we called him; most likely from my dads (Max) association with him. Albert was working at Fawkner Tech School as a maintenance person when I was there in the late 1970's. He never lost as his rich Scottish accent. When my Nana Newy! (Belle) in her later years ended up in Colton Close nursing home in Glenroy, the Fairweather's were also there in the mid 1980's. Belle died in 1984. Buller and Belle Newland lived in Pasco Vale and my dad was born there. Not sure what Albert did for work before that.

I do not recall meeting Maude but remember visiting the Fairweather's at Coburg and later on at Glenroy.

Mum keep in touch and was a very close friend of Deaconess Angela Fairweather. I took mum to see her at their home in Ormond. Remember her husband or partner Mr. Carter was a plasterer I think. Not sure where Angela fits in as she is not on my family tree, nor are any other offspring from the family, which I have to correct. Angela must be one of the offspring. born later possibly in 1930's or 40's.

I have in my possession the cuckoo clock owned by Tom Fairweather which I think was at Coburg. Our original Fawkner house we lived at was built by Martin Murphy. Aunty Emily was married to him.

Dad would often visit Aunty Martha Buss nee Fairweather in Hobart when he was younger and talked with her daughter Lorna often. We did a trip to Qld in the early 70's to visit a Margarete who I think was a Fairweather also?? There was an Malcom Fairweather who went to Qld from Vic and lived on a boat/ yacht he built. I don't know where he fits in but obviously another member of the family.

Good to here from you and hopefully I will discover more members of my Fairweather maternal family and update my tree to include missing relatives I have mentioned. I've haven't done much on the Fairweather's for some time. I do not recall meeting any of Tom's, Albert's or other Fairweather or Newland cousins except for Angela and Albert Fairweather as I grew up. Dad when asked would say they were all dead before I was born!! I only discovered recently that Mary their mother came to Australia with them and is buried in the Fawkner Cemetery.

Thanks Again Rob J Newland

Hi Dee,

The United Kingdom Project has not been active since 2018 and we are now completely closing it down. We are removing all UK project badges. If you still have an interest in the UK and have not already joined another project, then you will need to join the England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales Project by answering one or more of their G2G posts. If your interest is in the British Isles and British Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories, then please contact me directly.

Hi, Dee!

Thank you for your participation in October 2020’s Source-a-thon. Your contributions helped us to clear over 57,000 profiles that needed sourcing. This makes our Shared Tree all that much better.

Keep up the great work!

Hi,

The Germany/German Roots Project is currently undergoing our member check-in and wanted to verify that you are still active and interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? We have many new teams so have a look on the Germany project page for the list of them. Is there a particular Team or area you are interested in participating with? I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!

We use Google groups for internal project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup for access feel free to submit a join request and we will get that approved as quick as possible. We also ask that members check their follwed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (GERMANY) so you don't miss any disucssions in G2G.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all the work you have been doing. We look forward to hearing back from you and that you will decide to be part of the project as we move forward with the new teams for the project.

Please respond by email. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hello Dee:

I saw your post that you are "Interested in Mckay family who migrated to Australia in particular". Can you provide more specific information about what you are seeking.

A group of people, originally from Rum and Muck immigrated to Cape Breton in Canada during the Scottish Clearances. A group of them, under the leadership of their minister, emigrated from Cape Breton to Australia (in the 1850s, if I recall correctly). Might your ancestors have been among them? If so, please contact me and I'll see what information I can dig up.

Hi Dee,

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.

Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.

Many thanks,

Susie

Just checking in to see if you are ok :)

It has been 3 weeks since I posted a message on your profile and I have not had any feedback from you.

If I don't hear from you by the weekend, I will presume you no longer wish to be involved in the England Project.

I will then go ahead and remove you from the project and remove the badge.

Hope to hear from you soon :)
