Biography

Peg (Sutherland) Murray is a member of Clan Sutherland.

Margaret was born in 1906. Named after her mother, she was the only daughter with 4 brothers. She was known in the family as Peg.

In 1928 she married Frank Murray. They had 1 son George and 2 daughters Margo and Linda. For many years they lived with Peg's widowed mother Margaret Sutherland. They purchased a large house on the corner of Albert Street in Nairn which they converted into the Albert Hotel and built a bungalow known as "The Haven" in the adjacent garden ground. After Frank's death, Peg lived with Margo and her husband Bruce for the remainder of her life. Her final home was their then hotel Achnacarry House in Cumming Street at the Links In Nairn.

Margaret (Peg) died in 1983. She was buried beside Frank in the new part of the Cemetery in Nairn.
