Biography

James was born on 6 May 1833 in Lawrence Co, Pennsylvania, USA to James and Isabella (Silliman) Stewart.[1][2]

He served as a Union soldier in the Civil War; Company A, 1st Regiment Colorado Cavalry.

When James was 44 he married Melissa Rosetta Mann on 2 September 1877 in Howard, Elk, Kansas, USA.[3]
