Biography

George Hillstone STEVENSON was born in 1844^[1] and christened on 9 November 1845 in Moulton, Northamptonshire, England^[2]. He was the son of William STEVENSON and Rebecca HILSON.

The STEVENSON family were assisted immigrants from Moulton, Northamptonshire, England, who set sail aboard the ship Medway. They departed Gravesend, England on 24 April 1849 and sailed into Geelong, Colony of New South Wales (later known as Victoria) on 8 August 1849^[3]. The family consisted of parents William (31, Labourer) and Rebecca (30) and their surviving children, Thomas (9), Eliza (6), George H (4) and infant, William.

Ann SUTTON and George Hillson STEVENSON were married 1873 in Colony of Victoria^[4].
