About

West Terrace Cemetery, originally known as the Adelaide Public Cemetery, is South Australia's oldest cemetery. First appearing on Colonel William Light's 1837 plan of Adelaide, the first recorded burial was in July 1840. State Heritage listed, there are approximately 150,000 burials. It is one of 4 cemeteries managed by the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority.
