Re: mtDNA H1-C16239T: I have connected to your Geni Profile. Geni does not yet have a path for us. Is there some way to upload the mtDNA here and Geni so Helen W can connect with both of us when she gets back from her travels? Helen is from Finland and has a mtDNA distance of 1 with me and encouraged me to contact you by email which I have done. Wiki has a 250 paths between you and me and I will begin creating paths on my tree on Geni as well for Helen's benefit. You and I can begin through one path in Virginia: https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Special:Relationship&action=calculate&person1Name=Sorensen-4427&person2Name=Moyer-780 which I will use to build my tree in Geni. This isn't a mother to daughter line but its a start and often families connect especially earlier up in the tree. I see your family came to Illinois, but it will be fascinating as we see what circumstances your mother's ancestor came south.
Another option is your relationship with my maternal ancestor Catherine McElveen Wise [1] whose father was a descendant of the House of Grimmet [2] I have a project on the House of Grimmet if you'd like to join in Geni [3].
