Biography

Mary Smith was born in late 1852. She was the daughter of John Smith and Mary Gittens. Her birth was registered in Tenbury, Worcestershire. ^[1]

Mary entered New Zealand in Port Chalmers, May 1858. She arrived with her two siblings and a brother. ^[2]

Mary married Benjamin Edwards in New Zealand in 1876. ^[3]

Mary Ann Edwards passed away in Christchurch in 1927 at the age of 74. ^[4] She was buried in Bromley Cemetery in Christchurch two days later.^{[5] [6]}
