On the marriage record, it stated that Adelia J. Smith's parents were Robert and Margaret (no maiden name given) Smith.

If Robert were 25 at the time of Adelia J. Smith's birth, 1861-25= 1836 for approximate birth year for Robert Smith.

Addendum This portion may be useful to somebody, but not really to me. I was looking through marriage records in New Brunswick. (Provincial Archives of New Brunswick, Vital Statistics from Government Records).

There were many marriages with Robert Smith listed as groom. I looked through York County, as that's currently the county line for Harvey, where Adelia J. Smith said she was born. (Said on marriage document to John Hollie Wasson)

I didn't have any luck with York County, so I just searched all over New Brunswick. There were Births 78 Marriages 66 Deaths 45. Great fun. (yes, that's sarcastic!) I was looking through Marriage records, so 78 of them.

The only marriages for a Robert Smith (which I had to search through, rather than Margaret's name, because I don't have her maiden name) that seemed to have any chance of matching were:

We already know that Adelia J. (Smith) Wasson, Daughter to Robert and Margaret Smith), was born about 1861. This would mean that her parents were probably born 20-25 years earlier than the date of birth for Adelia J. Smith.

If Robert and Margaret smith married 5 years prior to the birth of their daughter, 1861-5=1856 for the approx marriage date. ***We would be looking for a marriage that would have likely occurred in about 1856, in the list of marriages above. I edited to show which ones would be possible, and none of them match. Harvey, NB is pretty close to the border of Maine, USA, if you go through McAdam. I'm wondering if they married in Maine. This means that the marriage occured on 13 March 1851, We now have a middle initial for Margaret Turner. :)
