Robert was born about 1784. He is presumed, from the Scottish naming pattern of his and Jane's children, to be the son of William Sinton and Isabel Black, fitting in a gap between this latter couple's known children John and Margaret. He passed away after 1851.
On the baptisms of sons William and James Robert was shown as gardener at Ancrum House.
Had immigrated to Canada between 1825 and 1831 between the birth of James and Elspeth. This Census record confirms they were in Canada in 1831 as well.
